ASB Portobello Update - Angela Constance MSP

Following the awful incidents in Portobello, and the persistent in Musselburgh over recent months, I wrote to the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs, Angela Constance MSP. Please find her response above.

This response only adds to my belief that the Scottish Government are ignoring the clear concerns of the public.

- Officer numbers consistently declined between 2020 and 2024

- 2024 saw the lowest number of officers since 2008

- Officer capacity fell by 500 to 16,500 in the 2025/26 Police Scotland budget
